We spent the Memorial Day Weekend in the most peaceful, perfect place in the world (especially if you are a two year old who loves, loves, LOVES animals) - Meridian, Idaho. Ok, technically we started the trip with a stop by Bear World in Rexburg. Jonathon has been talking about this place for a year now...ever since our last visit. He regularly pretends he is a bear at bear world, or he is feeding and taking care of the bears and playing with the animals in the petting zoo.
As if the dairy farm wasn't enough to make my little farmer perfectly happy and content for the next year of life, we got to visit my Aunt Cindy and Uncle Larry's "farm" as Jonathon calls it. I have decided it is the most perfect place I could imagine living. It was so peaceful and relaxing for me to lounge in the hammock by the creek or just simply watch the joy in Jonathon and Jared's eyes as they drove the golf cart all over the property visiting each of the different animals (horses, chickens, cats and a dog). Jonathon had a whole routine worked out that he did over and over as he pretend fed and took care of each of the animals. In addition, he loved chasing the chickens, carrying the cats around by their middles (they were sure patient with him!!) and snuggling with Stanley, the calmest dog I've ever met. Jared was, of course, in heaven too. He and Jonathon have very similar interests.
